Really, Senator McCain? Really?

Ever since his induction into the "Barack Obama kicked my ass" club in 2008, Senator John McCain has been struggling mightily to maintain some semblance of relevance.  In his latest effort he, along with new BFF Lindsay Graham, lashes out against President Obama for his possible pick of Ambassador Susan Rice to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.

“I will do everything in my power to block her from being the United States Secretary of State,” McCain said of Rice on Fox News. “She has proven that she either doesn't understand or she is not willing to accept evidence on its face. There is no doubt five days later what this attack was.  She went out and told the American people something that was patently false and defied common sense.”
 

This was based on Rice's response to the media on the Benghazi attacks in September, when she asserted that the attacks were a spontaneous protest of an anti-Muslim YouTube video.  Presently, the President hasn't actually nominated Ambassador Rice.  But he was clearly quite perturbed at McCain's criticism.  The president's response to McCain...

"If Senator McCain and Senator Graham and others want to go after someone they should go after me," Obama said at a White House news conference on Wednesday. "When they go after the U.N. ambassador apparently because they think she's an easy target, then they've got a problem with me."

Now here's where I tend to have a problem with President Obama.  He's just too damn wordy.  Whenever he wants to get a point across, he goes all "professor gangsta" on folks and gets rather verbose when there's really no need for all of that.  He could have summed up the above statement with just three words to John McCain.  YOU PICKED PALIN!

 

Really, Senator McCain, do you seriously want to dig into the qualifications of people the President picks for cabinet positions?  You had a chance to pick someone for the most important position in the country next to the one you were running for, and you picked THIS...

That's right, Johnny boy.  This is who you thought should be responsible for the nuclear codes in case you forget to take your nitro glycerin pill.

So, Senator, when you're in the mens' room with your buddy Lindsay Graham, pulling each others peters in the empty stall, you may want to ask yourself, "Do I really want to lose what little credibility I have left by going there with this Susan Rice thing?" After all, dude, YOU PICKED PALIN!
