Operation American Spring Joins the #EpicFail Hall of Shame

In the history of really, really stupid dumb-assery there are those moments that stand out. These moments, which seem to come along just when we all need a good hearty belly laugh, deserve a special place in what we call the #EpicFail Hall of Shame.

Remember the May 21, 2011 doomsday prediction of Harold Camping? Thousands of his followers believed his prediction of impending doomsday only to end up dazed and confused like this poor fella.

Then there's this reaction by former Ohio Congresswoman Jean Schmidt when she heard that Obamacare had been overturned. Now whether she heard this from an actual person or the voices in her head, we'll never know. What we do know is that Obamacare was, in fact, upheld by the Supreme Court. Nevertheless, her near ogasmic sounding reaction is priceless.

And who can forget the epic 2012 election day meltdown of Karl Rove on the set of Fox News as he absolutely refused to believe, even as his colleagues were resigned to the fact, that Obama had won a second term.

And now we can add Operation American Spring to the list of epic conservative Tea-Party failures. The movement, which was supposed to be a rally of 30 million "patriots" to force President Obama to abdicate the presidency, only drew what generous estimates say between a few hundred and a thousand hearty souls who could manage to take time out from binge-watching Hee-Haw, leaving supporters to wonder, "WHERE YOU AT!? WHERE...ARE...YOU...AT?" (Because 30 million RSVPs via Facebook couldn't possibly have been FAKE, could they?)

Yeah. It was those damn Obama internment flood camps that kept everyone away.

So, for woefully misoverestimating just how many people in this country are as cray-cray as they are, "Operation American Spring" is the latest inductee in the #EpicFail Hall of Shame.

Congratulations, Tea-nuts.
